The Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools District has announced the hiring of Bobby Staudt as the new Head Coach for the Brookside High School football program. Staudt brings extensive experience at multiple levels of high school football, along with a strong track record of developing players and building competitive programs. Most recently, he served as Defensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Southeast (Ravenna) High School, where he oversaw the entire defensive system and quarterback development.

Prior to Southeast, Staudt coached at Jackson (Massillon) High School as Wide Receivers Coach and JV Offensive Coordinator on a Federal League Championship team. During that season, Jackson produced the league’s leading receiver and leading rusher, while the JV team finished 9-0, averaging 32 points per game.

Staudt previously spent five seasons at Green High School, holding roles including Quarterbacks Coach, Running Backs Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and Offensive Special Teams Coordinator. Green reached the playoffs three consecutive years during that span, highlighted by a 2021 State Final Four appearance. His offenses set multiple Federal League records, including passing yards and passing touchdowns, and produced Green’s highest-scoring offense since 2006.

Staudt has also previously served as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Rootstown High School, where he led significant improvement within the program while also building a highly successful youth basketball system with record participation.

“Coach Staudt brings energy, organization, and a clear vision for our program,” said Brookside Athletic Director Chris Adkins. “He understands how to develop student-athletes and build a culture centered on accountability and growth.”

As a player at Green High School, Staudt was a team captain and All-Federal League quarterback setting multiple league records. He also remains the only student-athlete in the last 20 years to start for the Bulldogs in football, basketball, and baseball during his Senior year.

In addition to football, Staudt will also join the Brookside High School Math department as a full-time teacher.
